In addition, the beautiful and admirable Lexie who started the fabulous networking and blog trafficking site, VoiceBoks has thought to put me at the top of the "Members to Remember" list for this week. I am truly honored. If you have not found your way to VoiceBoks yet, I highly recommend it! It is a networking site like none out there as Lexie is really walking us through the right steps for bringing real traffic to our blogs and not just followers that never come back. Thank you so much Lexie and to all the wonderful bloggers on VoiceBoks, especially those who are reading this today who've stopped in from "Members to Remember". Thank you and WELCOME! This post is not a typical post for me. I do hope you subscribe to email, follow, and/or return to join in the conversation as life with my three charming and challenging children unfolds and evolves. For those of you who have been with me for quite some time and continue to return for all the ups and downs of raising my kiddos thank you, thank you, thank you!
just an update:
Lastly, today was the meeting with our Crisis Support Specialist, who has been working weekly with Obug, and the incoming Youth and Family Partnership representative. The first session was wonderful and the woman I will be working most closely with is quite amazing. I left the meeting feeling like the planets are truly aligned today to have brought us together, as well as all of the other things that have gone well this week. Hence, the theme today...
We are transitioning from one organization to another under what is considered a Continuum of Care. Our Crisis Support team is comprised of two specialists, one who worked 1/wk with Obug for an hour in and around the home and one who worked 1/wk with ME in the home. They were able to observe and give objective feedback. Most importantly, they could see the true interactions of the kids in their own home with no pressure or fears from the kids of being observed. We have met weekly since February (right after my back surgery) and they have seen the kids (and myself) on their good days and their bad. Personally, I have been greatly impacted by the immense amount of support and encouragement they have provided. I will truly miss seeing them each week! Through our conversations I have reexamined my outlook on my children's behavior (they WANT to be good, but are communicating that something in them is missing), I have reevaluated my impact on their development (I am not 100% responsible for every action and reaction they have or have ever had), and I have been empowered to do what I know I can (I am uprooting the 'status-quot' of my family and going back to school in a few weeks). The progress made since we started with this marvelous team of women is amazing, but there is still so far to go to get these kiddos truly stable and on the path to success. We will get there though, we will!
