WooHoo! I received my acceptance letter to graduate school!!!! I can't believe it!
I will be starting classes when my kids start back to school in just a few short weeks. The admissions process was relatively painless and I actually enjoyed putting together my goal statement. I got some feedback from a few people in regards to that all important document and submitted that last piece of the puzzle fist thing this morning. My enrollment advisor called me within 15 minutes to say that she just read it and felt it was one of the best statements she had ever received. She then sent my file on to the admissions department and within an hour we had a letter offering me admission to the Master's of Science in Mental Health Counseling. My advisor was back on the line with me soon after to share my joy and to congratulate me regarding the speed with which admissions made their decision. She said, "you must have really wowed them down there as I don't think I've ever had a response that fast!"
I feel like a rooster with peacock feathers crowing at the dawn. It feels weird to have had that type of response to putting myself out there; especially for something I have wanted for so long, but frequently questioned whether I would be considered a qualified candidate. It just feels GOOD to be given the opportunity and to have it offered so readily!
